QALY measures whether your life is worth living

Cost effectiveness of expensive medical treatment is at the heart of Dutch discussion as health insurers are considering to stop funding medicine for the rare Pompe disease. In the Netherlands there is no standard to measure the clinical effectiveness of medicine.
